Aeropuerto Internacional de Punta Cana
Punta Cana, La Altagracia Province
The busiest airport in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean, handling over 7 million passengers annually. It's the main gateway for tourists visiting the eastern coast resorts. Santo Domingo, National District
The main airport serving the capital city of Santo Domingo. Named after José Francisco Peña Gómez, it's the country's second-busiest airport and the primary hub for domestic connections. Located about 20 minutes east of the colonial city center.
Aeropuerto Internacional del Cibao
Santiago de los Caballeros
Serving the Cibao Valley region and the country's second-largest city, Santiago. This modern airport is a convenient gateway for travelers heading to the northern coast, including Cabarete and Sosúa. It also serves the agricultural heartland of the DR.
Aeropuerto Internacional Gregorio Luperón
Puerto Plata, North Coast
The gateway to the Amber Coast and Puerto Plata province. Named after the Dominican independence hero, this airport serves the popular north coast resort areas including Playa Dorada, Sosúa, and Cabarete.
A $10 USD tourist card fee is typically included in your airline ticket. If not, you can purchase it at the airport. It's valid for 30 days.
Expect 20-45 minutes at immigration during peak hours. Have your passport, return ticket, and hotel address ready. E-Ticket form can be filled online at eticket.migracion.gob.do.
You can bring $500 USD worth of goods duty-free, plus 1 liter of alcohol and 200 cigarettes. Declare any amounts over $10,000 USD in cash.
Free WiFi is available at all major airports. For mobile data, consider getting an eSIM before your trip or purchasing a local SIM card at airport kiosks.
Pre-arranged hotel transfers are the easiest option. Official taxi stands are outside arrivals. Agree on the fare before getting in. Uber operates in Santo Domingo.
